Bruce D. Grinnell, GFA member number 84, has submitted his resignation as GFA Director. Bruce was instrumental in many major events in the GFA's history, including its incorporation as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, as a non-profit corporation under the laws of Rhode Island, getting the first by-laws written and approved, and perhaps most importantly, managed a cross-continent prosecution of a former GFA president and treasurer who, back in 1997, embezzled the GFA treasury to the tune of over $12,000. The former president was found guilty and convicted of the crimes.

Bruce established a working relationship with the Rhode Island law firm Corcoran Peckham Hayes & Galvin PC, who rewrote and updated our corporate by-laws a few years ago. This same firm has, for many years, taken care of the initial paperwork required for the annual filing of our non-profit corporation status paperwork with the State of Rhode Island.

We thank Bruce for his over 35 years of service to the GFA, and wish him a happy retirement.

This also means that the GFA is looking for a new attorney, preferably a Grinnell descendant, to serve as a director and legal advisor to the all volunteer GFA Board of Directors.
